  • Biography

    Joan Curran Darkortey is the administrative operations manager in the Community and Economic Development (CED) group of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. In this role, she provides strategic planning and thought leadership expertise to CED, while managing program operations.

    Darkortey joined the Federal Reserve System in 2007 and has worked in roles of increasing responsibility in Supervision and Regulation, the Office of the Corporate Secretary, Legal, and most recently in Records and Information Management (RIM) as a senior RIM analyst and consultant responsible for promoting RIM compliance and awareness, providing enterprise training, and managing the RIM Liaison program.

    She is actively involved in several employee resource networks and cochairs the Diversity Advisory Council, a key advisory partner to the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and the Executive Leadership Committee on the Bank’s diversity, equity, and inclusion practices and strategy. She is also a business agility and O365 adoption champion.

    Darkortey holds a BA in political science from Emory University, a paralegal degree from Clayton State University, and an executive MBA in business strategy from Cleveland State University. She is a certified litigation paralegal, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and a certified information professional. She is the 2014 recipient of the Crain’s Cleveland 40 under 40, Atlanta Fed Corporate Citizenship Award (2017), Cleveland State University Alumni Board Outstanding Public Service Award (2017), and lifetime member of the Beta Gamma Sigma International Business Honor Society.
