Paul G. Boynton served as vice chair of Rayonier Advanced Materials Inc. (RYAM) in Jacksonville, Florida, until June 2022. Before serving in this position, Mr. Boynton was president and chief executive officer from 2014 to 2021. RYAM is a global leader of cellulose-based technologies, including high-purity cellulose specialties, a natural polymer commonly found in cell phones, computer screens, filters, and pharmaceuticals. The company also manufactures products for paperboard and high-yield pulp markets, with manufacturing operations in the United States, Canada, and France.

Mr. Boynton had held various positions with RYAM and its former parent Rayonier Inc. since 1999. He served as global brand manager in 3M Corporation's Home Care Division from 1990 to 1999, and reliability and quality engineer of the Motorola Corporation from 1986 to 1988.

He is a member of the board of directors of the Jacksonville Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, the Brink's Company, Rayonier Advanced Materials Inc., and the National Association of Manufacturers. He is also a member of the board of governors of the National Council for Air & Stream Improvement.

He received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Iowa State University and an MBA from the University of Iowa, and graduated from the Advanced Management Program in Harvard University's Graduate School of Business.
